Diagnosing and Solving no power issue:
- Check to make sure battery is hooked up correctly & connections are secure. Also Check the ground post is hooked up to the engine or frame and secure.
- Check in line fuse (Fuse is located on the red (+) power line that hooks up to the battery.)
- Check the wire harness where the key plugs in. Make sure there are no loose wires and in the clips on both sides. If all wires appear to be in the correct locations and are secure in their housing. Use an ohm meter to check continuity through the key. (Normally the red wire would be your hot wire and the black would be your connection wire) with the key off you should have nothing between those two wires. With the key switched on you should get continuity.
Resolution:
- If connections are secure and positive (+) is hooked up to the red (+) terminal and the black/green (-) is hooked up to the negative (-) Terminal proceed to the next troubleshooting step.
- If fuse is blown, replace. (12Amp Tube Fuse) If fuse is fine proceed to next step.
- If there is no continuity through the key switch. Replace ignition switch.
